Find your product

You can find the name of your product as well as your prescription / specification, either by:

  • Looking at your prescription - this should tell you your specification by eye as well as the brand of your lenses.
  • Otherwise you can look at the boxes of your latest lenses. Be careful to make sure you get the right and left in the correct order

Having found your product, you can now select the specification as well as manipulate the numbers to be ordered. This is a function of the number of pairs you need (in the case of a two-eye order) - so 90 pairs equals 3 months.

How do I read the prescription?

Most prescriptions look like this:

 Base CurveDiameterSphereCylinderAxisAdd
Right8.514.5-0.50-1.25140
Left8.514.5-0.50-1.25140

First of all, never confuse your contact lens prescription with the one for your spectacles - They are different

What does it all mean?

  • Base curve helps show the shape of your eye - the lower the number, the steeper the curvature
  • Diameter defines the size of the lens - it measures the distance in millimetres from one edge to another and defines where on your eye the lens edge will rest
  • Sphere / power defines the power of the correction. A minus sign indicates short-sightedness. This is expressed in dioptres in increments of 25.
  • Cylinder is only used for patients with astigmatism (needing toric lenses). Once more this is measured in dioptres in increments of 25.
  • Axis is again only required for astigmatism - this should be a figure between 0 and 180 degrees
  • Add is used for multi-focals

Don't forget, if you are in any doubt contact your optician to confirm (or ask us to do so).

I can't find my contact lenses

This could be for a number of reasons:

  • You have a rigid / hard / gas permeable lens which we do not supply
  • You have an own-brand lens - e.g. Specsavers' easyvision, in which case our call centre can probably help you find the branded equivalent.
